Today I would like to tell you about my trip last weekend. For the first time, I was on a barn market with market stalls. Do you know such events? You go to these markets, looking for great things and want to get some bargains that you do not find in any retail shop. I was hoping to be lucky and would find something that I always wanted to have, but I did not know that desire yet.
You take a stroll through many market stalls and booths which sold great spices & oils, all without the addition of taste enhancers. Unfortunately, this is not so self-evident or common today. All these different flavors were really delicious and made me to want more.
Lot of garden plants were displayed on a large area. Unfortunately you have too little space for so many beautiful plants. Then, however, in the course of these whole garden plants my eyes cast over beautiful cactuses. There were different shapes and sizes. Here I got hold of 3 mini-ones. They are so tiny that I could put them in a glass cup of a tea light, so I can supply them with water at all.
It was then on many stalls selling clothing, bags of different sizes and designs and pillows to feel good in various styles. Indeed some were according to the motto “Shabby chic” but overall, there were really nice bargains as I think. Of course, no designer merchandise but simple and elegant for everyday life in school, college or work.
Soaps were sold at some booths, others were cosmetics or various decorative articles. A stand really impressed me a bit with his jewelry. He made jewelry from old silverware. When you see the jewelry, you do not think that these pieces of jewelry were made from cutlery. Unfortunately, I am not able to show you pictures of it, since I could not photograph anything. Some traders are very particular.
On the whole the dealers were at liberty and I could also take pictures So I went on through the stands with jewelry, all sorts of household help, and many other useful and useless things. From the many impressions of the market, I was quite exhausted and am also a little hungry. Luckily my way led me to the booth of Backzauber Hamburg. The stand was filled with sweet delicacies and the decision for me was really hard. Some things looked much to nice to be eaten, e.g. the unicorn muffin. Then I considered well and decided me for a vegan strawberry muffin and a vegan blueberry muffin. Also I could not resist the brownie with raspberries. Finger licking good these treats from the Backzauber Hamburg.
After this marvelous feasting, I went through the colorful variety of exhibitors. There was a wide range of nutritious treats and little gourmet meals. I tried here a delicious Nutella crêpe, there a Danish ice cream, a few Dutch fries and so on until I was really fed up and had taken all the impressions into me.
An then there was this one stand, which touched me simply humanly. This stand was from an aid organization for Afrika. But I´ll tell you separately.
Have you ever visited such markets? I was very surprised when I saw soooo many people visiting this market. I will definitely do it again. What are you doing on your weekends?
